Government Revokes Gazette to Degazette Wedithalathiv Nature Reserve Following Legal Challenge by EFL

The case No. SC/FR/150/2024, filed by Environmental Foundation (Guarantee) Limited (EFL) as a Fundamental Rights application in the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka on 05.06.2024, challenged the legality of the decision to alter the boundaries of the Wedithalathiv Nature Reserve, a protected area declared under the Fauna and Flora Protection Ordinance in 2016.
